Trish Essenhigh

Clinical Director / Occupational Therapist  

 Trish is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has spent over 14 years working in the paediatric occupational therapy space, predominantly in early intervention. 

Graduating from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Health Science; Occupational Therapy, Trish has worked with both the Department of Education and the Department of Health in early childhood intervention services. Trish has also practiced in large scale not for profit organisations providing therapies to children experiencing trauma. 

Having set up her own private practice, Little People OT, when she first moved to Far North Queensland, Trish has been providing mobile and clinic-based therapies to children in the greater Cairns region since 2018. 

Trish specialises in delivering therapies to neurodivergent children with additional support needs. She is passionate about working with children and their families, incorporating her knowledge and skills as a therapist, combined with her experience as a mother to understand and overcome the challenges that families face. 

Trish has a love of cooking and fitness, especially hiking. She has two boys and a dog that keep her busy at home and a little bearded dragon called “Mochi” who likes to venture to work with her on a regular basis. Mochi has become a well-know personality at the LPT clinic and is much loved by all the children that visit.
